So day one- got myself sorted with a new phone (cheaper than just a sim!), lodged money to my US bank account and took a trip out to Brooklyn to take a look around. Managed to get on the subway in the wrong direction twice yesterday- have never done that before!

Had lunch in my favourite NY eaterie, Speedies Deli on 32nd & Broadway. The first person that sat down beside me was an Irish guy called Liam- typical NY!!! Anyway, pottered about for the day and headed down to see some friends in Chelsea in the evening.

Back to the hostel to pack up and sleep for trip to DC.
