Florida

It's dark outside and I can only see the blackness of the sea and sky from the penthouse. But I can still hear the waves crashing.... not a bad life eh? I'm seriously considering giving up on this whole employment thing and living like the other 'snowbirds' down here in Florida.

Back to the real world though.... the beach down here is fantastic. You wouldn't know from the photo but it's actually too cold to be out on it. It's been a pretty bad winter down here so far so it's more jumper than bikini weather, however it's still a pleasant break from the biting cold of a NY winter.

We've been pretty busy since we arrived on Sunday afternoon as my cousin was here with her two little ones. Life certainly gears up a notch with two toddlers underfoot! Great to be a part of their joie de vivre. Lauren is twenty months, and finds pretty much everything hilarious.... she's got about three swimsuits on her in this photo...

The condo here is fantastic, on the sixth floor overlooking the Gulf. It's a huge place that you never want to leave with endless bathrooms and beds.... and a super balcony. There's a large air force base nearby so you often see aircraft and helicopters pass by too.

We went to a nearby winery today for some tastings of local wine. Despite my skepticism of what the sunshine state could possibly offer in the wine stakes I was nicely surprised. We tried about fifteen different wines, and finally I settled on a bottle of 'Beach Blush'.. with tones of peach and orange. I'll enjoy that while watching the sunset over the Gulf....
