The place was absolutely throbbing with New Orleans Saints and Minneapolis Vikings fans bouncing around town eagerly awaiting Sunday's NFL playoff game. For the record the Saints won and so will be in the Superbowl for the first time this year!
Also on the agenda was a visit to the New Orleans Jazz Park. It's actually run by the National Parks Service despite being right in the centre of New Orleans, and it's main function is to simply preserve jazz in it's origin city. A free jazz performance was on offer so that was pleasant!
We stopped by a gift shop where this awesome towel caught my eye... girls it's for all the lovely boys we've lost to other lovely boys!
By 4pm a massive fog had descended over New Orleans. It seemed to grow by the second and very soon visibility by the coast was mere feet. Since we had planned to go on the Natchez dinner jazz cruise this was problematic! The cruise company decided it was unsafe to sail so the boat never left the dock! Nonetheless we did enjoy the dinner, cocktails and jazz bit of it!
This morning we rose at the ungodly hour of 5.30am to take a bus to Florida. Today's weather wasn't great so it turned out to be a good day to be travelling. Our trip took us Mobile, Alabama first; where we had a one hour stopover. Back on the bus to Fort Walton Beach via Pensacola. Finally we made it here at 1pm. The bus we took was continuing to Miami, a further ten hours down the road!

We're now settled with family in a penthouse overlooking the waves.... sunshine expected tomorrow!
